Women In Networking is the first professional networking group of its kind for business owners, sales executives, etc. to service the six-town region of the Greater Valley. Founded in 2002, the group was formed by a successful group of businesswomen who meet to discuss common issues.

Meetings are conducted on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month to share sales leads, get referrals, keep members informed regarding business in the local area and to discuss a variety of business related issues. Social and educational events are also scheduled throughout the year.

A 63-year-old grandmother is working in Customer Service, and reporting to a 22-year-old supervisor. A recent high school graduate is promoted to store manager, and most of the staff is old enough to be his father. A staff of 30 women working in Accounts Receivable - comprised of 20-something's to 60-something's, and two seventy-something's. It’s the issue of generational differences - sometimes as many as four or more working together and often colliding as their paths intersect.

The Women In Networking (WIN) Group of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce and Il Palio Restaurant cordially invite you to the 6th Annual "Almost" Autumn Wine Tasting & Grant Fundraiser.

Cost is $40 per person ($75 for 2) and includes wine tasting, hors d'oeuvres, goodie bag, door prize, and silent auction. Il Palio is offering a pre-fixe menu dinner ($35) following the event for guests with advance reservations. For non-wine drinkers, a cash bar will be available.

The monies raised benefit the Annual WIN Entreprenuerial Grant Fund through the Valley Community Foundation. The Grant provides financial assistance to women in the towns of Ansonia, Beacon Falls, Derby, Oxford, Seymour and Shelton to enhance the applicant's current business or to start a new business. The minimum one-time grant is $500. Greater amounts may be awarded according to individual needs and available funds. $4000 in grant monies were distributed in 2009.
