Get Involved! Join a Networking Group.

Your Chamber Networking Groups generate business opportunities by providing a structured environment where members may pass qualified referral leads in a non-competitive and mutually supportive manner.

Belonging to a Chamber Networking Group may significantly increase your sales efforts, since group members have the incentive to become salespersons for each other's products and services. Members within the group become a marketing force for each other. This mutually supportive environment is what makes participation in a Greater Valley Chamber Networking Group so powerful.

All the groups meet twice a month.

Seeds to Leads meets the 2nd & 4th Wednesday at 8:00 am
Valley Business Network (VBN) meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday at 8:00 am

Group members must be a member of the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce. Groups are limited to one representative from each industry based on their chamber membership (i.e. one realtor, one banker, one printer). Openings are filled on a first come basis. Groups meet at the Greater Valley Chamber, 10 Progress Drive, 2nd Floor, Shelton, CT

Networking Group dues are $80 annually (and pro-rated quarterly for new members). If you are interested in participating in any of the Chamber's Leads Groups please contact the Chamber prior to attending a meeting.

(Meeting times/days may change due to special presentations, holidays, weather, etc. – please double check our online Calendar of Events to confirm date, time and location).

In addition to our Lead Exchange Groups, the Chamber is pleased to offer several councils for our members.

Healthcare Council
Our Healthcare Council was created based on the premise that health and wellness are increasingly important issues to area businesses. From providing insights into chronic diseases to the effects poor health has on productivity and employee attendance, the Council is an educational resource on health and wellness for businesses throughout the Greater Valley region. Our membership reflects the variety of providers in our region. From private practitioners such as dentists and chiropractors, to physical therapists, nurses and representatives of long term health care facilities and hospitals. The Council’s members include medical practitioners, administrators, managers, and salespeople, among others. Our diversity helps us to offer a broad range of educational and outreach services. The Healthcare Council meets the 3rd Friday of each month.

Women In Networking Council (WIN)
The Women In Networking Council was formed as a way to share hurdles unique to women in business by providing a warm, friendly atmosphere that is supportive, educational & dynamic. Members are a mix of female entrepreneurs, business owners, and key players in B2B services. In addition, WIN developed an Entrepreneurial Grant Program for Women In Business. The WIN members produce and host an annual fundraiser to support this grant and their fund with the Valley Community Foundation. They meet the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 8:15 am.

Technology Council
The Techology Council was created to serve as the driving force to increase all Chamber members’ technology knowledge, helping them understand how technology can enhance their business; give Valley technology leaders a forum for collaboration and innovation and bring awareness to local technology resources. The Council believes strengthening the technology presence in the Valley will positively affect businesses across many different industries. Making local technology resources more easily available to businesses can help contribute to economic growth in the Valley. The Technology Council meets the 1st Thursday of each month.

Hotelier Group
This group is comprised of the Valley area Hotel Managers and Sales Directors. They meet at least twice annually and as needed to discuss the issues and concerns facing their industry.

Greater Valley Human Resource Forum
Monthly meeting, sponsored by The Schegg Group, for area Human Resource Managers and their Associates as well as other invited guests. Meeting features a speaker on current HR trends.

Young Emerging Professionals (YEP)

Are you new to a career and don’t know where to turn? Do you want to grow your business, but don’t know where to do it? Do you want to meet great new business contacts but don’t know where to start? This is an ongoing problem for young professionals in today’s market place.

In the Valley there is a large population of young, enthusiastic and driven individuals who are looking to take their business to the next level. In turn, there are also very few opportunities that help people socially and professionally in the area. That is why the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce formed Young Emerging Professionals (YEP) for individuals in their 20’s and 30’s in the region.

YEP’s mission is to help young people become more engaged in the community as well as more successful and professional in all their future business opportunities. The goal of the group is help young individuals grow their businesses by building strong social circles that can engage their business.
